Travel Money

Travel Currency

The last time you went on holiday, how did you go about travel money?  Where did you order it and in what shape did it take (cash, travellers cheques, travel money card)?  If you are in the majority of UK citizens you will have popped online and ordered your holiday currency there.  If you were early enough in the day, you may have requested next day delivery to your door.  You will have gone on your trip with one thing secure: your travel money was ordered in a way in which you saved the most money.  Surprisingly though, there are still people who rely on high street travel money and exchange bureaus to order travel money.  Despite the sometimes very high exchange rates on offer there, people still rely on this method.  Perhaps this is because it is the oldest way of doing it, or perhaps they just are not aware of the online revolution.  For them, there is less money in the pocket at the end of the day, and much more hassle!

The funny thing is, holiday money is easiest ordered online and while there, you can choose exactly which provider you think suits best.  Some may offer better rates than others, so the easiest thing to do (and which will save much time) is to visit a financial comparison site.  There, all the main providers will be neatly listed out and all the main points clearly laid out.  What is the exchange rate?  Is there commission?  Are there any added services?  This is really helpful and means you get the best deal.
